Objective:The clinical observation of the effect of "Gao xue ya yi hao fang" to primary hypertension patients with hyperactivity of liver-yang and hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency syndrome, observing the change of blood pressure and immunoglobulin G. Explore an effective treatment of primary hypertension with integrative Chinese and Western medicine. Methods:Eighty patients with hyperactivity of liver-yang and hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency syndrome were chosen and randomly divided into Chinese and Western medicine group (CWG) and Western medicine group (WG). Treated CWG with "Gao xue ya yi hao fang" and Adalat GITS, and WG with Adalat GITS for four weeks. Detecting serum immunoglobulin G before and after the treatment, and review the improvement of blood pressure and Chinese medicine symptoms.Results:1.On reducing immunoglobulin G Before the treatment, immunoglobulin G had no significant difference between CWG and WG (p>0.05). After the treatment, with rank-sum test, the difference was statistically significant in CWG (p<0.05), but with no significant difference in WG.2. On decreasing blood pressure The total effective rate of CWG and WG in decreasing blood pressure were81.58%and68.42%respectively, with significant difference between groups (P<0.05).Both systolic pressure and diastolic pressure showed significant difference before and after the treatment (p<0.05).These results showed that "Gao xue ya yi hao fang" have significant synergistic action in decreasing blood pressure on the basis of taking antihypertensives.3.Clinical therapeutic effect The total effective rate of CWG and WG were86.84%and60.52%, the two groups showed a significant difference (p<0.05).It is clear that "Gao xue ya yi hao fang" plays an important part in improving clinical symptoms of hypertension patients. Conclusions:For the primary hypertension patients with hyperactivity of liver-yang syndrome and hyperactivity of yang due to yin deficiency syndrome, Chinese medicine "Gao xue ya yi hao fang" combined with western medicine "adalat GITS" shows a better effect in decreasing blood pressure, improving clinical symptoms and reducing serum immunoglobulin G than simply taking "adalat GITS". This study give a useful investigation of Chinese medicine treatment for hypertension, and take a good step for further research.
