Objective:Research the state of First-aid Knowledge and Skills of high school students inthe city of Jilin province.To investigate the related factors that affect high schoolstudents knowledge and skills of first aid. Put forward improvement measures andprovide reference for government and relevant departments.Method:This study was undertaken from June to August2013,and the " High schoolstudents first aid knowledge and skills survey questionnaire " was applied on1481high school students which was selected from three high schools of Changchuncity,Dehui city and Siping city, respectively. The database was established byEpiData3.1and was entered twice.The software of SPSS17.0was used to analyzethe data.Result:1.1481senior high school students’ mean score of First-aid Knowledge is45.75±12.95, and the passing rate is17.1%. The lowest passing rate is CPR, only3%. Gender, grades, regions, parents’ occupation and education affect students’ firstaid score, and the statistical significance was set at P<0.05.2. In the respects of self-evaluation of first aid knowledge and skills,17.1~23.7%of high school students had chosen basic grasp of knowledge of CPR with40~53.6%of high school students on trauma emergency had not chosen grasp at all. 3. The main source of first aid knowledge of senior high school students comesfrom television, Internet, newspapers and only4.1%of them had participated intraining courses.46.9%senior high school students are more interested in first aidknowledge,44.2%senior high school students believed first aid knowledge is verymeaningful,and39.7%of them considered it more meaningful.Conclusion:1. First-aid Knowledge and Skills of high school students in Jilin city weregenerally low, the knowledge and skills of CPR were lowest.2. The score of first aid knowledge of high school students in Changchun Cityis better than Dehui City and Siping City.3. First aid knowledge and skill’s levels of high school students of Jilin provincehad affected by different region, age, grade, gender, parents’ occupation and mother’scultural degree and the injury of students nearly five years.
