Objective:The present study was aimed to investigate the influence of sleep quality on antihypertensive efficacy in the hospitalized patients with hypertensionMethods:In this study,221hypertensive patients during hospitalization were assessed with the revised Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, PSQI). The patients were divided into four groups:best sleep, good sleep, poor sleep and poorer sleep groups. The blood pressure was measured on the day of admission,5th day during hospitalization and discharged day. The target blood pressure was obtained according to blood pressure hypertension treatment guidelines, China in2010. Antihypertensive effects were compared in the different sleep quality groups and multivariate stepwise regression analysis to clarify the importance of sleep quality on antihypertensive therapy in the hospitalized patients with hypertension.Results:1.Compared with on admission day, The rates of antihypertensive target on discharged day were increased significantly in the three best sleep, good sleep and poor sleep groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), while the rate of antihypertensive target was not different in the poorer sleep group.2. The decreased values of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure were increased significantly during hospitalization in the both best sleep and good groups. Compared with that in the both poor sleep and poorer sleep groups, the decreased values was statistically significantly increased (P<0.05) in the both best sleep and good groups;3.Stepwise regression analysis showed that the rate of antihypertensive target and the decreased value of systolic blood pressure during the hospitalization are mainly affected by the impact of the PSQI index, hypnotic drug applications, and high blood pressure classification level, combination of antihypertensive drugs.Conclusion:1.Sleep quality is one of the main factors affecting antihypertensive efficacy in patients with hypertension during hospitalization.2.The improvement of the quality of sleep can promote the antihypertensive effects of hypertensive patients during hospitalization.
