ObjectiveTo describle the status of perimenopausal syndrome, perceived stress,coping style and family function of perimenopausal women in Chongqingcity, and explore the relations among perceived stress, coping style, familyfunction and female climacteric syndrome and the influence factors onperimenopausal syndrome, with the aim of providing theoretical referencefor the interventions to improve the well-being of perimenopausal women.Methods300perimenopausal women who were attending the gynecologicalclinic in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical Universitybetween March2012and June2012were recruited. They were asked to fillin the the modified menopause Kupperman rating scale, Simplified CopingStyle Questionnaire (SCSQ), Chinese Perceived Stress Scale (CPSS),Family APGAR Index and self-made "general survey questionnaire". Thedata of the investigation was analyzed with Statistical Product and ServiceSolutions (SPSS)16.0. The statistical methods include descriptive analysis, t test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple stepwiseregression analysis.Results1.300perimenopausal women were investigated, and278effectivequestionnaires were obtained eventually, creating a effective rate of97.2%.2.The mean score of the modified menopause Kupperman rating scaleof the278women was (9.87±7.24).67.2%of them were withperimenopausal syndrome.3.The scores of the modified menopause Kupperman rating scale weresignificantly different in the groups divided by age, education level, workstatus, average monthly income, menses status.(P<0.05)4.The mean score of the perceived stress was23.63±5.76. The meanscore of the positive coping style was20.85±4.66. The mean score of thenegative coping style was10.41±4.35. The mean score of the FamilyAPGAR Index was6.56±2.50.45%of them had defective functioningfamilies.5.The scores of perceived stress and negative coping were bothpositively correlated with the scores of Kupperman rating scale(P<0.01).Thescores of positive coping and Family APGAR Index were both negativelycorrelated with the scores of Kupperman rating scale(P<0.01).6.By multiple stepwise regression analysis in which menses status, thescores of the perceived stress, positive coping style, negative coping style and Family APGAR Index were the main influence factors of femaleperimenopausal syndrome.Conclusions1.There was a high prevalence of female perimenopausal syndrome inChongqing.2.Many factors such as age, education level, work status, averagemonthly income and menses status were related with the perimenopausalsyndrome.3.Menses status, the scores of perceived stress,positive coping style,negative coping style and Family APGAR Index were the main influencefactors of the perimenopausal syndrome.4.Medical care staff should measure the influence factors and provideproper interventions to relieve their symptoms and improve their well-being.
