Objective: Study risk factors of epileptiform discharges increasedunder the supervision of electrocorticography after Spueratentorial gliomaresection, In order to provided Electrophysiological guidance on theprevention of supratentorial gliomas acute postoperative seizures. Methods: The clinical data of195patients, who received Gliomaresection under the guardianship of ECoG in our department fromSeptember2006to November2011, were analyzed retrospectively. Extractage, sex, with or without preoperative epilepsy, preoperativepreventivedrug and tumor involving cortex, with or without preoperativeperitumoral brain edema and the extent of tumor resection,. Analyse therelationship between these factors and increasing of postoperative epilepsydischarges through chi-square tests, correlation coefficient and odds ratio. Amultiple logistic regression model was used to analysed independent riskfactors in the multivariate analysis. Results: Patients whose postoperative epileptiform discharges are increased are53in195cases, accounting for27.2%. Electrocorticographyepileptiform discharges increased incident rates of the patients who havepreoperative epilepsy, patients who preoperative preventivedrug, patientswho tumor involving cortex and preoperative peritumoral brain edema andpatients who Non-total resection of tumor are different significantly inChi-Square Tests. The C is in turn enhancing(P<0.05). Relative riskcoeffient of preoperative epilepsy, tumor involving cortex and preoperativeperitumoral brain edema and Non-total resection of tumor exceed one,Relative risk coefficient of preoperative preventivedrug less than one.Factors such as age and sex are no different significantly in Chi-SquareTests(P>0.05). Preoperative epilepsy, peritumoral brain edema andNon-total resection of tumor are independent risk factors, preoperativepreventivedrug is independent protective factor. Conclusion: preoperative epilepsy, preoperative preventivedrug, preoperative peritumoral brain edema and Non-total resection of tumor arerelated of increasing of postoperative epileptiform discharge, and the higherof the value, the closer or the correlation between variable andpostoperative epilepsy stronger. Preoperative epilepsy, peritumoral brainedema Non-total resection of tumor are independent risk factors, preoperative preventivedrug is independent protective factor.
