Objective To explore the Correlation of influencing factors with the extent ofincipient supratentorial glioma peritumoral edema. Methods The clinical data of104patients with surgical pathologically confirmedincipient supratentorial glioma of WHO pathology gradeⅡ-Ⅳ(including age, gender,MR imaging features, pathologic grading andtumor markers expression, such as Ki-67,P53,MGMT),Standard PTEquantization: According to MR imaging for the quantitative assessmentof PTE:grade0:no edema;grade1:edema maximum diameter≤1cm;grade2:edema maximum diameter>1cm.We use non-parametrictest, Nemenyi test and ordinal logistic regression to analyze theassociation between the influencing factors above and PTE degree. Results Of the104cases,75(72.1%) had PTE,while there were29cases withoutedema. The result of univariate analysis showed that PTE was correlatedwith age,WHO pathologic grading, the degree of tumor enhancementand necrosis, and the expression of Ki-67(p<0.05),but it had nocorrelation with tumor diameter, gender, and the erpression of P53andMGMT(p>0.05); Multivariate analysis showed that PTE had acorrelation with tumor enhancement and necrosis(p<0.05),thecumulative probability of PTE rise to above97%when this twoindependent factors existed at the same time. Conclusion Peritumoral edema in the incipient supratentorial glioma patients werecorrelated with age,WHO pathologic grading, the degree of tumorenhancement and necrosis shown on MR image, and the expression ofKi-67,among which the degree of tumor enhancement and necrosisshown on MR image were the independent influencing factor.
