Analysis Of Physical Examination Results Of Freshmen Enrolling From2008to2011of A Vocational And Technical College In Anhui Province

Objective To understand the state of physical health of freshmen enrolling from2008to2012of a vocational and technical college in anhui province，and to provide thescientific basis for school health care work.Methods Using statistical analysis method such as t-test, chi-square test,multi-factoranalysis of variance,etc. to analyze the data(height,weight,bloodpressure,eyesight,etc.)of physical examination results of freshmen enrolling from2008to2012in this college.Results14385freshmen participate in physical examination in4years,8186boysand6199girls,the average age is19.5years old.Height value increased year by year,weight, body mass index,blood pressure fluctuations in the normal range. Detected poorsight accounted for63.33%of the total，Hepatitis B virus surface antigen(HBsAg)positive accounted for4.15%,Hypertension accounted for3.55%,alanineaminotransferase(ALT) abnormal accounted for1.96%,color vision abnormalitiesaccounted for1.59%，obesity accounted for1.23%;The differences of the detection rateof poor sight,color vision abnormalities,hypertension,obesity,alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and abnormal chest X-ray detection of medical test results of the annual healthycheck-up of freshmen had statistical significance (P≤0.05);the differences of detectionrate each year of hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) positive had no statisticalsignificance(P＞0.05).The differences of part medical measurement index (height, weight, body mass index, blood pressure) of freshman each year all had statisticallysignificant(P≤0.05).The difference of part physical measurement index (height, weight,body mass index, blood pressure, rate of HBsAg positive, ALT abnormal detection rate,poor vision detection,etc) of college boys and girls had statisticalsignificance(P≤0.05).Part physical measurement index (height, body mass, body massindex, blood pressure) in comparison between students of the Han nationality and ethnicminorities (Hui, Mongolian, Manchu) in this college, height, weight difference wasstatistically significant(P≤0.05); Body mass index, systolic pressure, diastolic bloodpressure difference had no statistical significance (P>0.05).There were no statisticallysignificant difference on poor vision, color vision abnormalities, high blood pressure,obesity, abnormal ALT, HBsAg positive, abnormal chest X-ray detection rate betweenthe Han students and minorities students (P>0.05). Part physical measurementindex(height, weight, body mass index, blood pressure) of students from differentdepartment (department of the mining engineering, ventilation and safety system, coalmine mechanical and electrical, department of economic management, projectmanagement department, the department of electrical and information engineering,department of medicine) is compared, difference have statistical significance(P≤0.05). Ithad statistical significance between the coal related professional students and othermajor in this college on part of the physical examination project measured values, suchas height, weight, systolic pressure, diastolic blood pressure, body massindex(P≤0.05).It also had statistical significance between the coal related professionalstudents and other professional students on detection rate of poor vision, color visionabnormalities,high blood pressure,obesity, ALT abnormal(P≤0.05),but there was nostatistically significant difference no detection rate of HBsAg positive and abnormalchest X-ray(P＞0.05).The percentage of freshmen underweight, normal, overweight andobesity is23.76%,68.91%,6.05%and1.29%respectively in this college,in which theproportion of underweight students on the high side, especially the girls (14.91%). Compared with students from other college in Anhui province, the differences of heightand weight of students of different gender in this school were statisticallysignificant(P≤0.05).Conclusion The physical health condition of freshman in this college is good overall,good body shape development, poor sight prevalence is higher, Hepatitis B virussurface antigen(HBsAg) positive, alanine aminotransferase(ALT)abnormal,high bloodpressure, color vision abnormalities,obesity, etc. also have certain detection rate.Heightvalue has increased year by year, the height and weight level of students of the Hannationality is lower than the minority (Hui, Mongolian, Manchu) students in this school.Part measurement indicators(height, weight, systolic pressure, diastolic blood pressure,body mass index) of different department in this school are all different, the value ofpart measurement indicators(height, weight, systolic pressure, diastolic blood pressure,body mass index) of coal related profession is higher than other professional. Theproportion of underweight students is on the high side among the college freshmen.Thelevel of height and weight of students of different gender in this school were higher thanother college students in Anhui province.
