Objective:To investigate the characteristics of women with ischemic heart disease(IHD). Studyon the change of plasma Ghrelin level in women with IHD who have different degreeof coronary artery occlusion and when complicated by depressive state to guide thediagnosis and treatment of IHD in women. Methods:Collect the baseline information and the test results during hospitalization of womeninpatients with suspected IHD from2011.5to2012.4.Collect2ml of peripheral blood in women inpatients from2012.7to2012.12who hadsuspected IHD and undergoing coronary angiography at6. Give the patients a HADSquestionnaire on the same day (the other day of admission). Determine the level ofplasma Ghrelin with the method of ELISA.Results:Women with IHD had higher incidence of chest pain when coronary arteryproceeded to obstructive lesions compared to those patients who had non-obstructivelesions (31.63%vs.22.48%). Women with IHD had higher incidence of palpitationwhen the lesions were non-obstructive compared to those patients who hadobstructive lesions (21.71%vs.15.34%). Tightness in chest was the most commonsign for all of them.Compared to the non-obstructive group, patients in obstructive group had characteristics as flows: they were always older (60.69y vs.63y), and having longermenopausal time(11.21y vs.13.34y), higher systolic blood pressure and diastolicblood pressure(129.51mmHg vs.135.38mmHg,77.97mmHg vs.81.21mmHg), lowerleft ventricular ejection fraction(67.04%vs.64.76%), more peripheral bloodneutrophils(55.67%vs.63.75%), lower levels of hemoglobin(123.31g/l vs.120.70g/l),higher levels of serum uric acid(284.95umol/l vs.305.98umo/l)、cholestrol(4.47mmol/l vs.5.04mmol/l)、 triglycerides(1.82mmol/l vs.2.50mmol/l)、low-density lipoprotein(2.37mmol/l vs.3.01mmol/l)、 plasma fibrinogen(2.90g/l vs.3.46g/l) and fasting blood glucose(5.17mmol/l vs.5.76mmol/l), and higher levels ofhistory of hypertension(56.2%vs.77.1%)、 stroke(9.6%vs.16.7%)、 diabetes(23.3%vs.34.5%)、somking(2.1%vs.6.8%)、family history of CHD(21.8%vs.37.4%), andhigher incidence of peripheral atherosclerosis(71.45%vs.83.10%)、hypothyroidism(11.8%vs.16.5%) and large heart shadow in the X-ray(54.35%vs.62.6%). Differences in these indicators were statistically significant.Compared with the obstructive group and non-obstructive group, the difference ofthe incidence of depression was not statistically significant(p>0.05).Compared withthe non-obstructive group, patients in obstructive group had lower levels of plasmaGhrelin(10.14ng/ml vs.8.81ng/ml) and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05). Women with IHD with obstructive lesions who complicated withdepression had much lower levels of plasma Ghrelin when compared with thenon-depressed patients (9.11ng/ml vs.7.52ng/ml) and the difference was alsostatistically significant(p<0.05)。Conclusion:The severity of coronary lesions in female patients with ischemic heart disease hasa certain impact on their symptoms. The severity of coronary lesions in female patients with ischemic heart diseasedepends on a variety of factors, including their age, menopausal time, level of systolicblood pressure and diastolic blood pressure, left ventricular ejection fraction, peripheral blood neutrophils, level of hemoglobin, serum uric acid, cholestrol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, plasma fibrinogen and fasting blood glucose, whether have hypertension, stroke, diabetes, somking, family history of CHD,peripheral atherosclerosis, hypothyroidism and large heart shadow in the X-ray.Whether a female patient with IHD will suffer from depression or not has nothingto do with the severity of lesions in her coronary artery. Female patients with IHDwho have obstructive lesions in their coronary artery have low level of Ghrelin, andlower level of Ghrelin when they are complicated with depression.
