Comparing the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.), HuaHong tablets and the negative control product, the unique compound of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) which is an mainly composed of HuaHong tablets.was founded and measured its content in the the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) and HuaHong tablets. As the control of the unique compound,we have established the HPLC figerprint of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) which provided the basic for identification and quality control of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.).The unique compound was separated by Efficient half preparation liquid chromatography (RPLC) and its structure was determined by13C-NMR,1H-NMR and MS.The content of the unique compound in the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) and HuaHong tablets was measured by HPLC method.The HPLC gradient elute method was used to establish the figerprint of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) and a software "similarity evaluation system for chromatographic fingerprint of TCM" punblished by GPD (version2004A) was used for matching and similarity evaluation of the relevant parameters of the chromatograms of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) from11different origin The results showed that Isoquercitrin is the unique compound:.The content of Isoquercitrin was measured by HPLC atthe wavelength of270nm and the retention time of Isoquercitrin at10min conditions and the figerprint was established by HPLC method but under the condition of the wavelength was273nm and gradient elute. Isoquercitrin peak as a reference peak, we have established the HPLC figerprint of the11batches of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) in60min and found18common peaks. It is simple and efficient to separate Isoquercitrin from the the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) by RPLC method.The average content of Isoquercitrin in differen batches of the the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) and HuaHong tablets was determined by RPLC and HPLC method.The HPLC method for determination the content of Isoquercitrin had high sensitivity, specificity and good reproducibility and could quickly and accurately measure the Isoquercitrin content in HuaHong tablets and the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.).The figerprint method had better stability,precision and reproducibility. Anyway,because of the figerprint of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) from diffirent origin with high similarity and pertinency, using for research and quality assessment of the Emilia sonchifolia (Linn.) was feasible...
