Objective: To study the status of psychology members work competency in Shihezi University,to analyzethe relationship between Psychological members personality of its competence, to explore the main factorsto affect the mental competency of members, and to propose a solution to provide a theoretical basis forthe universities carry out Mental Health Education.Methods: The research adopts the mixed research method by combining with quantitative research andqualitative research. The questionnaire survey in quantitative research adopts cluster sampling method toconduct questionnaire survey on the720the psychological members and class cadres in Shihezi University.The interviewing method in qualitative research adopts purposive sampling to conduct depth interview on22counselors, mental members, class cadres and ordinary students.Results:1. Survey show:1.1The status quo of competence of the psychological members:the overall incidence rate of thepsychological members competency insufficient is14.50%; the incidence rate of low sense of moralresponsibility is9.17%, the incidence rate of helping low is8.88%, the incidence rate of low-helpingqualities is6.51%, and the incidence rate of low mental health status is6.80%.1.2The different gender present significant differences with psychological commissioner competency(P﹤0.05), girls competency than boys.1.3The highest outgoing stable personality of psychological commissioner ratio52.66%; Neuroticismdimension and psychoticism dimension and psychological commissioner competent force was significantlypositive related (r=0.268,r=0.220,P﹤0.01); Different personality types, the outgoing stable personalitypsychology members competency best.2. Interview results show: Responsibilities of psychological members are not clear, the lack of thepsychology professional knowledge and professional guidance, training, imperfect incentives and otherfactors affect play of competence.Conclusion:1. The overall incidence rate of the mental competency insufficient is14.50%, the lack of moralresponsibility and lack of capacity to help others are higher proportion in competency dimensions.2. Neuroticism and psychoticism dimensions significantly related to their competency, and the outgoingstable personality psychology members competency best.3. Both the relevant departments and psychological members work together to improve the mentalcompetency.
