| Regrowth therapy is a kind of localized psychotherapy technique related to personality reshaping, and it is also the combined product of modern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) psychology and western modern psychology, which was firstly proposed by Professor Weidong Wang from psychology department of Guang’anmen Hospital. Because TCM psychology’s understanding of psychological diseases’development still remains at the level of ancient TCM’s perception, which is ok for guiding traditional medicine and acupuncture therapy, but it is insufficient for TCM psychotherapy. Under the guidance of TCM holism concept and in combination with related western psychology knowledge, this paper clinically presents developmental psycho-therapeutics (DPT), explores deeply the pathogenesis of mental illness and proposes the methods of regrowth therapy, which innovates and improves the development of TCM psychology.Regrowth therapy firstly appears in the book DPI written by professor Wang. DPI thinks that any psychological and mental illness is a process of occurrence and development, and explicitly puts forward that childhood trauma and growth with absence are two core pathogenesis of abnormal psychological development. And regrowth therapy is the very study and therapeutic method for abnormal psycho-development of growth with deviation and absence, and it is the extension and development of Thought Imprint Psychotherapy in a lowered resistance state (TIP). Regrowth therapy is based on the theory of DPT. For the patients with abnormal psycho-development of growth with deviation and absence, in the lowered resistance state (relaxation or the static state of Qigong, which is a state between the sober and sleep), thought imprint adapts them to situations and stories of normal developmental elements and phases at different ages, and induces them to be in consecutive imagination to finally correct the abnormal personality tendency and improve the psychotherapeutic level.Regrowth therapy is established in modem TCM psychology theory and DPT. In combination with modern DPT and following the principles of stability, continuity and repeatability, it is based on concrete thinking, imagination inflation and the principles of expression and the implied transform. And when the patients are in the lowered resistance state, the therapist uses thought imprint induction to create the stories and situations of different developmental phases or factors and guides patients to imagine the matched and normal situations of psychological development repeatedly, and then to be into the new cognition insight to change the unreasonable cognition and behavior patterns. And imagining missing events can make up the childhood absence to change and innovate new memory and reach the objectives of treatment.Regrowth therapy is the application, development and innovation of TCM concrete thinking. And it accords with Chinese history and culture background and the psychological characteristics of Chinese. It also realizes the mutual transformation of consciousness and subconsciousness, which is the supplement and innovation of Freud’s theory and all the psychotherapeutic theory and provides reference for the modern psychotherapy.By summarizing professor Wang’s clinical treatment experiences with regrowth therapy, this paper mainly aims to explore the reasonable core and theoretical support of regrowth therapy, and define its principles and sort out its technique basis, methods, operation key points and details. With the tools of WMPI and SCL-90, it explores the normal situation’s elements which are required to be created and imprinted at different ages to provide practical theory and standardization process for the clinical application of regrowth therapy. |
