Objective: To gather, establish and analyze a database for clinical and DNAinformation related to schizophrenia of the Uyghur and other ethnic groups in Xinjiang.Methods: To gather clinical information and record hospitalized patients related toschizophrenia of the Uyghur and other ethnic groups in Xinjiang with the schizophrenia ofInternational Classification of Diseases. Blood of them was draw and their DNA wasextracted and saved in the major disease specimen database of the first affiliated hospitalof Xinjiang medical university with their agreement. Then the schizophrenic patients weregrouped according to times of be in hospital and their condition was assessed with theBPRS and PANSS. Results: The result of gathered and analysis the clinical informationrelated to schizophrenia of the Uyghur and other ethnic groups in Xinjiang showed usthere was significant difference(p<0.05) in terms of profession and standard of culturebetween the first and many times hospitalized schizophrenic patients. And there was alsosignificant difference(p<0.05) in the score of BPRS and PANSS included aggregatesscore、positive and negative score and factor of lack of energy between two groups. Therewere not significant difference(p>0.05) in other terms of BPRS and PANSS. Conclusion:There are genetic propensity and significant difference in terms of profession、standard ofculture and clinical feature between the first and many times hospitalized schizophrenicpatients.
