Objective: To investigate the relationship of biochemical markers of bone turnver, sexhormones and osteoporosis in xinjiang elderly men. Methods: BMD of lumbar spine andleft femoral of146elderly men(average age:72.47±7.97) were measured by dual-energyX-ray absorptiometry.Based on bone mineral density T value the men divided into bonemass normal group (75cases) and abnormal bone mass group (60cases of low bone massand bone loss in11cases).The levels of serum PINP and CTX were tested byenzyme-linked immunoassay;the levels of estradiol and testosterone were tested by radioimmunoassay, application SPSSl6.0analysis software for statistical analysis.Results:(1)Between the BMD groups of PINP and CTX,the difference had nosiginificant(P>0.05);between ethnic groups of PINP had statistical differences (P <0.05);the partial correlation analysis has significant positive correlation between PINP and CTX(r=0.787, P=0.787).(2) Estradiol and testosterone compared in based-BMD groups wasstatistically significant difference (P <0.05);Han in normal bone mass had higher sexhormones levels than unnormal bone mass group, the difference was statisticallysignificant (P <0.05).(3)The lever of testosterone and hip bone mineral density, werenegatively correlated with age; Han’s hip bone mineral density were higher than that ofethnic minorities, except for G.T, InterTro parts, more than differences had statisticalsignificance (P <0.05).Conclusion: PINP and CTX were higher in abnormal group, sothe elderly osteoporosis male had high bone turnver, And sex hormone levels is an importantrisk factor affected male bone mass density.
