Effects of Biochemical Bone Metabolic Markers in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Postmenopausal OsteoporosisObjective:â‘ To explore the clinical application of BALP and TRAP in the diagnosis and therapy of PMOP;â‘¡To investigate the change of the serum levels of BALP and TRAP in postmenopausal women with PMOP who received Livia as HRT.Methods:â‘ 30 postmenopausal women with osteoporosis (PMOP group) , 30 postmenopausal women without osteoporosis (non-PMOP group) and 30 premenopausal women (control group) were recruited according to the results of BMD, correlated dataes and questionnaires were collected; the serum levels of BALP and TRAP were detected by ELISA method;â‘¡24 women were collected from PMOP group randomly, who received Livial (2.5mg/d) as treatment, the course of treatment was 6 months, the outcomes of BMD (include L2-4, Neck, Ward's and GT) were collected at 3 months and 6 months, the serum levels of TRAP and BALP were measured at 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. Biochemical measurements, including serum calcium, phosphonium, AKP, ALT, AST, BUN and Cr, as well as adverse effects, were collected, SDS was filled at 0 month and 6 months. Results:â‘ The serum levels of TRAP and BALP in PMOP group and non-PMOP group were higher than in control group, there was significant difference (P <0.01);â‘¡Compared to 0 month,the BMD of PMOP group showed no obviously increase at 3 months(P>0.05), there was significant difference at 6 months (P <0.05);compared to 0 month, the serum levels of biochemical bone metabolic markers declined obviously at 1 month in PMOP group(P <0.05), there was significant difference at 3 months(P<0.01), the serum levels of TRAP and BALP decreased further at 6 months(P<0.01);â‘¢Compared to 0 month, the scores of SDS showed significant difference at 6 months in PMOP group(P<0.01).Conclusion: The serum levels of TRAP and BALP in postmenopausal women were higher than premenopausal women,and the turnover rate of bone increased, then the turnover rate of bone in PMOP was also higher than in non-PMOP ;the serum levels of biochemical bone metabolic markers declined obviously at 1 month,these indicates lower and lower along with time in PMOP group after treatment ;the BMD of PMOP group showed obviously increase at 6 months in PMOP group;the BMD increased obviously, then the turnover rate of bone reduced, and the symptom of postmenopause improved at 6 months in PMOP group. The detection of the serum levels of TRAP and BALP could evaluate the condition of bone transformation at earlier period, it also could reflect the proceeding of PMOP and monitor the treatment of PMOP combied with the determination of BMD. The detection of biochemical bone metabolic markers could applied in the in the diagnosis and treatment of PMOP effectively and has a great prospect in clinical application. |
