Objective:To analyze the level of bone metabolism markers in elderly male type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with osteoporosis patients in Xinjiang Han and Uyghur, and explore the differences between Uyghur and Han patients. To provide reference for early identification of type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with osteoporosis. Methods:Retrospective investigation in 234 cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus from October 2015 to October 2017 who was in People’s Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and bone mineral density(BMD),bone metabolism markers were completed. There were 139 unincorporated osteoporosis(NOP)cases(66 cases of Han,73 cases of Uyghur),and 95 osteoporosis(OP)cases(43 cases of Han,52 cases of Uyghur).Record their general information as age, height, weight, course of disease, and calculate the body mass index(BMI).Collect their fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and other general biochemical indexes. In the same time, collect their bone metabolism markers as serum calcium(Ca),phosphorus(P)and 25-hydroxy vitamin D(25OHD),parathyroid hormone(PTH),osteocalcin(OC),C-terminal telopeptides of type I collagen(CTX),N-terminal propeptide of type I precollagen(PINP).To analyze the level of bone metabolism markers in OP and NOP groups, compare the differences among indicators of T2 DM combined with OP patients in the Han and Uyghur, and analyze the related factors of OP by logistic regression.Results:1.Comparison of general information(1)There was no significant difference in nation, age,BMI,course of disease between NOP group and OP group(P>0.05).(2)Among the T2 DM patients combined with OP:compared to the Han,the Uyghur’s age was lower, and the BMI was higher(P<0.05).,There was no significant difference in course of disease(P>0.05).2.Comparison of general biochemical Indicators(1)Among the Han: The FPG level of the OP group was higher than NOP(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in HbA1 c,TG,TC,HDL-C,LDL-C between NOP and OP group(P>0.05).(2)Among the Uyghur: There was no statistically significant difference in FPG,HbA1 c,TG,TC,HDL-C,LDL-C between NOP and OP group(P>0.05).(3)Among the T2 DM patients combined with OP:Compared with the Han,the Uyghur’s HbA1 c,TC,LDL-C was higher(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in FPG,TG,HDL-C(P>0.05).3.Comparison of bone metabolism markers(1)Among the Han: The level of 25 OHD in the OP group was significantly lower than the NOP group, and the OC,CTX and PINP were significantly higher than the NOP group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in Ca,P,PTH between NOP and OP group(P>0.05).(2)Among the Uyghur: The level of 25 OHD in the OP group was significantly lower than the NOP group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in Ca,P,PTH,OC,CTX,PINP between NOP and OP group(P>0.05).(3)Among the T2 DM patients combined with OP:There was no significant difference in Ca,P,25 OHD,PTH,OC,CTX,PINP between the Uyghur and the Han patients(P>0.05).4.Logistic regression analysis of risk factors for OP(1)Among the Han: 25 OHD was the protective factor for the OP of T2 DM patients, and the CTX was the risk factor for the OP.(2)Among the Uyghur: 25 OHD was the protective factor for T2 DM patients combined with OP.Conclusions:1.The level of 25 OHD in elderly men with type 2 diabetes in Xinjiang was generally low,and the level of 25 OHD in patients with osteoporosis was lower.2.CTX was a risk factor for the OP of the Han elderly male T2 DM patients, the detection of CTX has some reference value on identification of the Han T2 DM patients combined with OP.3.25 OHD was a protective factor for the OP of the Han and Uyghur elderly male T2 DM patients, and 25 OHD has some reference value to identify the Han and Uyghur elderly male T2 DM patients combined with osteoporosis.4.There was no difference in the level of bone metabolism markers between the Uyghur and Han T2 DM patients combined with osteoporosis.
