Objective:This study investigated the epidemiological characteristics of Mycoplasma (Mycoplasma pneumoniae, MP) infection from2010to2012, in order to provide MP pneumonia epidemiological information for clinical early diagnosis. Methods:Twenty thousands two hundreds and twelve patients who were diagnosed as "pneumonia" in hospitalized children from2010to2012were enrolled. Both venous blood and sputum were collected. Venous blood samples were sent to detect mycoplasma pneumoniae-specific antibody IgM by quantitative ELISA and sputum samples were sent to detect Mycoplasma pneumoniae DNA by real-time PCR. The cases with positive serum MP-specific IgM or MP-PCR were considered as MP infections.Results:(1) From2010to2012, positive rates of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection were22.80%,12.33%,25.66%, respectively, with the average rate of20.21%.(2) The distribution of ages:MP positive rate:<1y11.31%,1~3y20.89%.3~7y37.81%,7~14y43.94%. The result showed that the elder the children are, the higher their MP positive rates will be.(3) The distribution of seasons:from spring to winter, Mycoplasma pneumoniae positive rates were15.58%,27.09%,25.26%,15.28%. The incidence in summer and autumn are statistically significant higher than that in spring and winter.Conclusions:1, Higher positive rate of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in elder children was observed.2, The incidence of MP infection is closely related to the season with the higher rates in summer and autumn.
