Objective:To investigate the similarities and differences of the risk factors ofessential hypertension(EH) in-patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD) in the Han andUygur in Xinjiang. Methods:Nine hundred and eighty-two essential hypertensiveinpatients were enrolled between March2011and February2012in hypertensiondepartment of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University in theretrospective study.Among them,740Han and242Uygur.The univariate and multivariatelogistic regression were performed to analyze the risk factors between two national EHwith CKD.Results:(1)In982cases of EH in-patients,the prevalences ofproteinuria, reduced eGFR and CKD were20.26%,5.19%and23.52%,respectively.Theproteinuria(23.87%vs16.35%)and CKD(26.61%vs20.17%)were more prevalent in malethan in female, there were significant differences in prevalence between male andfemale. The reduced eGFR(4.31%vs6.16%)was more prevalent in female than in male, butthere was no significant difference.(2)The EH with proteinuria(19.46%vs22.70%),reduced eGFR(4.86%vs6.20%)and CKD(22.70%vs26.03%)were moreprevalent in Uygur than in Han,but there were no significant differences betweenthem.(3)Logistic regression analysis showed:SBP≥140mmHg,diabetes were independentrisk factors of EH with proteinuria in Han,age≥60years old was a protective factor of HanEH with proteinuria,age≥60years old was a protective factor of EH with proteinuria inUygur;duration of EH≥5years,hyperuricemia,diabetes were independent risk factors ofEH with reduced eGFR in Han,hyperuricemia was an independent risk factor of EH withreduced eGFR in Uygur;SBP≥140mmHg,diabetes,hyperuricemia were independent riskfactors of EH with CKD in Han,age≥60years old was a protective factor of EH with CKDin Uygur, hyperuricemia was an independent risk factor of EH with CKD inUygur. Conclusion:There were no significant differences in EH with proteinuria, reducedeGFR and CKD between Uygur and Han,associated with age, duration of EH,blood pressure, diabetes, hyperuricemia. The risk factors of EH with proteinuria, reduced eGFRand CKD were different between Uygur and Han.
