ObjectiveTo provide the basis for clinal treatment of central obesity, by way of comparing the curative effect of Bo’s abdominal acupuncture with conventional acupuncture.MethodsWe selected60patients who suffered from the central obesity in the Tianjin Armed Police Hospital during from June2011to December2012. These patients were randomly divided into two groups which were Bo’s abdominal acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group by means of the random number table according to the treatment orders. Each group contained30patients. The patients who were divided into Bo’s abdominal acupuncture group were treated by needleing Yinqi Guiyuan (CV12, CV10, CV6, CV4), Abdominal Siguan (ST24, bilateral, ST26, bilateal), Tiao Piqi (SP15, bilateral), ST25(bilateral). Acupuncture method:To pinprick quickly and avoid to pores and artery at the same time. The patients who were divided into conventional acupuncture group were treated by needleing mainly CV12, ST25(bilateral), ST24(bilateral), LI11(bilateral), ST37(bilateral), SP 15(bilateral), ST40(bilateral), SP9(bilateral). Supplementary points:Add ST36to the pattern of spleen insufficiency with damp retention; add ST44to the pattern of stomach heat and dampness; add LI4and LR3to the pattern of liver stasis and qi stagnation; add BL20and BL23to the pattern of spleen-kideny yang deficiency; add SP6and KI3to the pattern of inside heat due to yin deficiency. All of the patients were treated once a day, and each treatment lasted for30minutes. Every15times consist of a course. After2courses, we would to measure the patients’ weight, height, waist circumference, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein, to calulated the body mass index, waist to height ratio, and to record statistical methods for its analysis. Finally, we would to compare the difference of the clinical effeicacy between the two groups.Results1.60patients all completed the whole treatment, and were included into the final statistics object.2. After2courses, the total effective rate of the conventional acupuncture group was90.0%, and the total effective rate of the Bo’s abdominal acupuncture group was93.3%. Efficacy comparison between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).3.The weight and BMI of the patients belonged to two groups both reduced after treatment, and the differences between before and after treatment were significant (P<0.05); Efficacy comparison between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).4.The WC and WHtR of the patients belonged to two groups both reduced after treatment, and the differences between before and after treatment were significant (P<0.05);Efficacy comparison between the two groups, the Bo’s abdominal acupuncture group was better than the conventional acupuncture group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).5.The TG and HDL-C of the patients belonged to two groups both improved after treatment, and the differrences between before and after treatment were significant (P<0.05); Efficacy comparison between the two groups, the Bo’s abdominal acupuncture group was better than the conventional acupuncture group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).ConclusionBoth Bo’s abdominal acupuncture and conventional acupuncture have a good effect on the treatment of the central obesity, but compared with the conventional acupuncture group, the Bo’s abdominal acupuncture group has a good advantage in improving the WC, WHtR, TG, HDL-C.
