In severe cold areas, the internal surface temperatures of the outer wall andwindow are lower than those of the interior envelopes because of the rather low outdoorair temperature. The indoor environment is non-uniform with cold radiation. In order to study the hunman physiological and thermal response in cold radiationenvironment, three experimental conditions were conducted. The conditions were coldcondition, neutral condition and uniform condition. The uniform condition was designedto do comparative analysis.20healthy college student subjects participated in theexperiment. They have been basically adapted to the severe cold climate. The clothinginsulation is1.02clo. The experiment lasts1.5h.The environmental parameters were recorded, including air temperature, airvelocity, relative humidity, blak ball temperature and surface temperatures of theenvolopes. At the meanwhile, the heart rate, blood pressure and skin temperature weremeasured in the experimental process. The overall thermal sensation and comfort, andaccepetability were surveyed. The local thermal sensation and thermal comfort offorehead, back, hand, arm and lowerleg were investigated. The draft of several bodyparts was asked. We focused on human physicological response with indoor environmentalparameters, including skin temperature, heart rate and blood pressure. And we studiedhuman thermal response with environmental and physicological parameters and humanthermal sensation evaluation model. The results indicate that the skin temperature is different with different airtemperature. The heart rate increases with the airtemperature rising. The blood pressureis similar under different conditions.According to the analysis of thermal sensation and comfort votes, the results showthat the local thermal sensation and thermal comfort of different body parts aresignificantly different in cold radiation environment. The difference of local thermalsensation will be reduced as the overall thermal sensation increasing. In cold and neutralconditions, the head and back thermal sensation have not significant difference; whilehand, arm, lower leg and overall thermal sensation are different. The regression formulas of overall thermal sensation and mean skin temperature, local thermal sensation and local/mean skin temperature, heart rate and overall thermalsensation are obtained. The research proved that the PMV model can not be used to predict human thermalsensation in cold radiation environment. Human thermal sensation evaluation model which can be used in cold radiation environment was obtained.
