Objective To analyze the clinical data of patients with vitiligo in Ningxiaand the surrounding areas so as to generalize the clinical characteristics ofpatients with vitiligo.Methods Totally540vitiligo patients admitted from January,2006toApril,2012were retrospectively studied in the General Hospital of NingxiaMedical University. Statistical analysis of the clinical data of these cases wascompleted to understand the clinical features of the vitiligo patients.Results①In540patients, the male to female ratio was1.11:1(284malesand256females). There was no significant difference in the incidence ofvitiligo between male and female. The first onset age was mainly young andmiddle-aged, with the average age of23.31±10.42years old.The averageduration of540vitiligo cases was23.37±13.45months.②42cases (7.8%) ofthe patients had a clear family history of vitiligo disease, and the average age ofonset of vitiligo patients with positive family history (14.93±11.79years) wasobviously earlier than the average age of onset of vitiligo patients with negativefamily history (24.02±10.36years); the difference between them was verysignificant (t=10.13,p<0.05).③The summer was topped the list (38.7%),followed by autumn (23.7%),spring (22.0%), winter(15.6%) in the primaryonset season of vitiligo patients.④Among the540cases,55cases hadidentified predisposing factors; among of them21cases were after the injury,17cases were with mental factor et al.⑤It had43patients (8.0%) in540cases with other illnesses, including19cases with halo nevus and7cases withhyperthyroidism et al.⑥There were more lesions on face of540cases but lesslesions on hands and feet.⑦The majority type in540cases was vitiligovulgaris(97.8%), among of them235cases (43.5%) were localized vitiligo,211cases (39.1%) were sporadic vitiligo. In540vitiligo cases had392(72.6%)progressive vitiligo and148(27.4%) stability vitiligo.Conclusion Vitiligo mainly occurred in young and middle-aged; therewas no significant difference in the incidence of vitiligo between male andfemale. The average age of onset with positive family history was obviouslyearlier than the average age of onset of negative family history. Trauma andmental factors were important predisposing factors for vitiligo. Halo nevus andthyroid gland disease were the most common accompanied diseases of vitiligo.Vitiligo affected most of the body,and the majority type of vitiligo wasvitiligo vulgaris, localized vitiligo and sporadic vitiligo were in the majority.The progressive vitiligo was in the majority and the summer was vitiligo-proneseason.
