【Objective】In order to clear total enteral nutrition (TEN) and total parenteral nutrition(TPN)in the treatment of patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP),we should evaluatethe effectiveness of TEN and TPN systematically.【Methods】Randomized controlled trials(RCT)in recent years of TPN and TEN in patientswith severe acute pancreatitis were searched in wanfang Data, China Joumal Net,VIP Data and PubMed from Jan2000to Oct2012. Meta-analyses were analysed byRevMan5.2software.【Results】660articles were selected by the standard, and thirteen RCT involving696patients were adopted. Meta-analyses shows that compared with TPN, TEN wasshowed with a significantly lower incidence of secondary infections﹝R R=0.36,95%CI(0.27-0.47)﹞,multiple system organ failure﹝RR=0.30,95%CI (0.19-0.48)﹞,and mortality﹝RR=0.41,95%CI (0.25-0.68)﹞.【Conclusion】In the clinical treatment of patients with severe acute pancreatit,TEN is obviouslybetter than TPN, and should be used in clinical treating widely.
