With the development of scale and intensive breeding industry, poultry and livestock manure pollution problem is becoming increasingly serious. At the same time, the manure is also the precious biological resources. This article has conducted the solid-liquid separation process study and the design, research and experiment of the screw press separator, and has important theoretical significance and practical value for the resource utilization of animal manure.This article made a research into the physical properties of the manure, and also studied the solid-liquid separation process, put forward the design requirements of the press screw separator.By using the method of combination of theoretical calculation and computer software simulation, this article analyzed and designed the screw separator. The author completed the design of the feeding device, transmission and press device, discharge device and driving system, made force analysis and finite element analysis for the key working part-screw flight, drew the3D model of the device, and a model machine was also manufactured.Based on the preliminary design, experimental study of solid-liquid separation has been conducted. Pig and dairy manure was adopted as the raw materials respectively, by changing the screen sieve, TS content of the manure and the ring gap size of discharge cone, using the capacity, moisture content and the output of the press cake as the measurement index, we got the optimal parameters of KP-250screw press separators as follows:0.75mm screen size was suitable for the solid-liquid separation process of the dairy manure, and0.5mm screen size was suitable for the solid-liquid separation process of the pig manure; For the manure with a solid content of8%, when the gap size of discharge ring was between40and50mm, solid capture rate, processing capacity and the moisture content of the press cake had reached the best level. At last, after the verification test, we finalized the design.
