Comparison Of Fishing Gears And Fishing Methods In The China And Korea

The capture object of the marine fishing gears is the wild animal resources which inhabits the ocean. Overfishing might lead to the decline of the fishery resources, and even exhausted. Therefore, it is an important measure for protecting the fishery resources to manage the fishing gears and method. China and South Korea are neighbors across the sea, and the two countries signed "Sino-ROK Fisheries Agreement" in2001. The scales of the marine fisheries production of the two countries are different greatly, but they are similar in terms of the marine fisheries environment, the challenge ahead of them, development tendency and so on. The analysis of the two countries’ management measures to marine fishing gears and method would provide reference for the development of the two countries’ marine fisheries.In this paper, the main contents include:the comparison of the utilization status of fishery resources and fishing situation between China and South Korea. The analysis of the fishery production structure between China and South Korea. The comparative study of fishing gears access system of the two countries. The management system for fishing gears and methods and the fisheries laws which exist in the two countries. The problems and the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions existing in the management system of fishing gears and method of China.This paper used the methods of literature analysis and comparative study and so on. Analyzing the fisheries statistics, papers and books on fisheries and relevant laws and policies. Comparing the management system of the fishing gears and methods and status of the fishing gears access system between China and South Korea. Analyzing the problem existing in it, and putting forward some advices below for the development of china marine fishing: (1) Adjust the structure of the fishing gears and methods reasonably and scientifically by assessing the fishing gears and methods and resources survey.(2) Improve laws and regulations and management systems.(3) Enhance publicity and education of fishers, reinforce the law enforcement efforts.(4) Pay attention to the development of eco-friendly fishing techniques and gears.Through this study, we hope to provide a reference basis for China and South Korea to face the development situation of marine fishing better, use the marine fishery resources reasonably, achieve the sustainable development of marine fishing. At same time, we hope to boost the development of fishing gears, improve the relevant fisheries laws and regulations, strengthen and standardize the management of fishing gears and methods.
