Study On Square Landscape Design Of Chinese Cold Cities

Special climatic conditions in cold regions has long been a major factor hindering the construction of cold cities livable environment. City square is the core node of urban outer space and the main activity place of the residents. The rational design of cold city square can help to improve the quality of the environment and quality of life in the city. This article focuses on cold city square landscape to explore and research the city square landscape in cold regions in China.This study has put forward the concept that design responds to climate is as a means to create cold cities livable environment, through in-depth analyzing the cold regions’ climate characteristics and its influence for the urban environment, residents and the social and economic development. Based on the investigation and analysis of cold cities residents’ behavioral and psychological patterns on the Square, this article compares the difference of the background of cold cities’ development between home and abroad, concludes factors and representation restricting Humanized construction of cold cities square, and presents the principles applicable to our country’s cold city square landscape design.We should expand the cold cities square design study based on these principles, control the cold cities square space design to accommodate the climate, express the regional characteristic of cold regions landscape, use the intermediate technology applicable to our country’s cold cities square design, and finally summary a design methodology which can create good cold cities square landscape.
