The Embodies And Inheritance Of The Regional Culture In Urban Waterfront Landscape Design

Urban waterfront open-space is the most dynamic diversity activity space in urban landscape. It is the ideal landscape corridors in gathering urban cultural connotation. It is significant in enriching diversity landscape spatial structure of the city and in Coordinate and sustainable development of various aspects of the city. However, China’s urban waterfront landscape construction systems and theoretical aspects are not mature enough. Due to the exist ecological damage and the traditional model and other issues. Particularly the missing piece of the city’s traditional culture, making the embodies and inheritance of regional culture in the waterfront landscape be drawn more and more attention. The purpose of this thesis is to improve the integrity of the regional construction systems of waterfront space which has an important significance for sustainable development of cities’ historical and cultural and urban waterfront landscape.This paper makes geographical and cultural features of the city as the contact point and firstly elaborates and analyzes the related concepts and contents of the waterfront landscape and the geographical and cultural features. The paper makes reasonable analysis on the related theories and principles which are involved in the historical evolution, analyzes and learns from successful experience of classic cases in waterfront building at home and abroad. In addition, the paper makes detailed analysis and research of the related landscape elements in urban waterfront landscape construction, urban waterfront landscape features and the basic contents of regional culture in waterfront landscape and proposes concrete manifestation methods of regional culture elements in the waterfront landscape design. Finally, The paper makes an empirical analysis by taking the waterfront landscape design of Mulan river for example from the landscape features of the base and from the geographical and cultural characteristics of Putian. It grasps the overall functional positioning and design concept and makes concrete manifestation of the geographical humanities in waterfront landscape design from the five partitions.The case study starts from related status of Mulan river of Waring segment in Putian. It fully taps the regional culture elements of the geographical natural elements in Putian City Under the guidance of the theory. In the landscape design, we convey the regional cultural elements in the form of landscape to the construction of the waterfront landscape. In the detailed nodes and landscape elements, we make modern landscape composition methods to concrete the national figurative elements of traditional cultural elements and make these humanistic elements embodied in each node and scene in the waterfront landscape to create landscape space with cultural characteristics atmosphere of Putian. The landscape design theme of each district is reflected in follows. Flood control zone:retrospective cultural history of Mulan Pei construction, commemorate historic figures who built weirs and reproduce cultural history of flood control. Water protection zone:maintain fruit the original ecological forest landscape, create an ecological waterfront landscape environment and highlight the theme of "exchange, leisure, experience ". Le water zone:Protect and comb the original Fruit forest, improve landscape quality, create spaces for recalling sages and ascots, and recollecting culture of flood control in Putian. Hydrophilic region:create a beautiful and comfortable slowly walking road in Riverside Landscape. Beneficial water zone:reproduce cultural elements of Putian like folk customs in the form of landscape, make geographical and cultural elements be integrated into the landscape space to show rich humanistic style of Putian. In the design process, make the geographical Humanities and water culture the two mainlines throughout the entire waterfront landscape.In this paper, we make a perfect combination research on the transformation opinions of the regional culture factors in conjunction with landscape elements of the waterfront landscape design and obtain the theoretical summarizes and thoughts about the embodies and inheritance of regional culture in the urban waterfront landscape in order to provide a reference for the future urban waterfront landscape case studies and practice combined with regional culture.
