Interactive Waterfront Landscape Design Based On Regional Cultural Background

With the increasing demand for quality of living environment,urban waterfront landscape,as an important leisure space for people,has become a current research hotspot for its cultural connotation and quality improvement.At present,the waterfront landscape design of many cities in China generally has the problems of convergence in design,lack of regional culture,low recognizability,weak interactivity and weak sense of participation.At the same time,the design of urban spatial environment does not pay enough attention to human behavior and psychological needs,which makes the local residents’ sense of belonging and identification with local culture weak.This makes its utilization rate low and wastes the natural resources that the city is blessed with.In response to the above problems,this paper takes waterfront landscape design as the research object,and enhances the regional culture and interactivity of the landscape as the research content.Using literature research method,comprehensive analysis method,case study method,field research method and theory combined with practice,we conducted a more systematic research on the theories related to regional culture,interactive landscape and urban waterfront landscape to find the correlation between the three.It also extrapolates universal design strategies and builds a framework of design methods applicable to interactive waterfront landscapes within the context of regional culture,such as historical and cultural orientation,design strategies,behavioral needs,sensory needs,emotional needs,and expression techniques.Using the method of case verification,the above design method is applied to the landscape renovation design of Mingwang River in Zexiang Town,Guizhou Province,and after field research and analysis,a specific design strategy of interactive waterfront landscape based on regional culture is proposed for the current situation.It is intended that through deep excavation of regional culture and by enhancing the interactivity between people and landscape,it will be integrated into the riverfront landscape design,thus shaping a rich and vivid waterfront landscape and enhancing the cultural connotation and vitality of waterfront landscape design.This paper hopes to provide new ideas for the design of urban waterfront landscape,to provide some theoretical reference for the study of regional culture and waterfront landscape in the town of Zexiang,to provide some reference value for waterfront landscape design in other cities,and also expects to make a modest contribution to the development of interactive landscape design in this way.
