Energy plays an important role in China’s social and economic development. To achieve therational development and utilization of energy, China is implementing smart grid construction. Asthe smart power grid terminal, electric energy meter plays a very important role in energymeasurement and management. Measurement data can also affect governments’decisions on policyof developping energy. Before officially put into use, the electric energy meter needs to beexamined by verification department. And only the qualified products are allowed to be installedand put into use. Therefore, highly accurate meter calibration device can improve the accuracy ofenergy measurement, enhance the effective use of energy and heighten the accuracy of energyco-ordination. Now, the continuous expansion of commercial housing and one household with onepolicy, utilization of energy meter grows at a rapid pace. Energy meter test takes a long time,therefore realization of multi-position electric energy meter testing to improving test efficiency isimperative.This essay analyses and studies the special requirements of multi-position electric energymeter testing equipment in error detection. The essay puts forward a design of control system basedon CAN bus fieldbus to realize the collection and transmission of96position error data. The mainworks of this paper include the following:(1)Describe the purpose and significance of subject study, the development trend of electricenergy meter testing equipment, and relevant points about the theoretical basis and fieldbus controlsystem. Work out that the CAN bus is the most suitable for multi-epitope meter test design anddevelopment, according to comparison of the the current popular fieldbus.(2)Discusse some important guidelines of device selection for error analyzing hardware, aswell as the key points should be considered in the circuit design. Based on Cortex-M3core MCU asthe main controller,2.4-inch TFT LCD, the power of CAN communication circuit is designed asisolation, anti-interference circuit is desiged to improve the accuracy of the error detector. Powerfunction is designed with a buck circuit and a LDO circuit.(3)Multi-position electric energy meter testing equipment demands high real-time andreliability in transmission of error data. This essay designs and implements a set of random errorcommunication mechanism to ensure the real-time and reliability of error measurement.(4)Design underlying driver program and testing program to detect meter error (including basicenergy error, the clock frequency error and demand cycle of errors, etc.), creep test, start the test,temperature detecting, forwarding data, etc. Thought testing in the laboratory and the field, the design of the electric energy meterverification device can finish the function and performance of the smart meter verification task.
