Engineering machinery is an indispensable part in modern construction. However, for a long time, our national engineering technology is always based oneconomical and practical principle with little attention on ergonomics, which inturn causes that the condition of engineering machinery cab is relatively shabby. With the continuous development in design technology, the design of cab shouldfulfill the need of utility and satisfy the need of people’s sense and spirit. Aqualified operating environment which fits the ergonomics would improve workefficiency and operating comfort effectively, greatly reduce the machine’s losswhich caused by operators, and guarantee the safety of operation. The present research findings could not fundamentally solve the problemof ergonomics in our national engineering machinery cab. Starting from thegeneral layout of the cab of construction machinery, this paper studies theergonomics part in engineering machinery cab. Through comparing the improvedengineering mechanical joysticks and the origina l joysticks, this paper coulddraw a conclusion that the improved joysticks are superior to the original ones inthe aspect of comfort, work efficiency, and subjective evaluation. By usingBiopac mp150polygraph, this experiment collects the EMG statistics caused bytesters when they operate the same task with different opera ting levers, and willcalculate its average value. Combined the average value with the statistics oftesters’ subjective evaluation, this experiment verifies whether the modifiedjoysticks meet more requirements of ergonomics than the original joystick byusing Stat View software. Based on statistics, this method is more scientific so asto improve the research level of ergonomics’ application in engineeringmachinery field. In addition, considering that the cab’s style and color couldaffect operators greatly, this paper discusses the design of engineering machinerycab in the principle of aesthetics. And then, this paper also studies the following parts including the application of human body sizes and body templates, theworking environment ins ide the cab and operating comfort.
