Study On The Evolution Of Shenhou Town’s Space Form Under The Background Of Industrial Transformation

Nowadays, China is in a period of rapid development in urban and ruraleconomies, as well as development of society and urbanization. Therefore, Chineseeconomic structure constantly changes and adjusts to this new development. For thoserelatively closed and less developed ancient towns, the plight of how to develop in thecontext of modern industrial transformation and how to achieve the adaptability ofdevelopment through its own evolvement mechanism becomes a hot issue and animportant subject of the present studies of the ancient towns.Shenhou Town is one of those ancient towns in Yuzhou City, Henan Province,which is famous for its richness in Jun Porcelain. Based on its history formation anddevelopment, this thesis takes Shenhou Town as research subject and aims to putforward the evolution methods in the optimization of the Shenhou Town’s spatialmorphology in the background of modern industrial transformation. To achieve thispurpose, this paper analyses the industrial development path of Shenhou Town as wellas its changes in the characteristics of the spatial form under the industrial promotionwhich pushes forward the town’s spatial morphology. Industry of Jun porcelain inShenhou Town has three major transformation periods in history, and space form ofthe town has different characteristics in the transition period.At first, this paper analyses the research background of the current citydevelopment and demands of the return of traditional culture, introduces the currentresearch status of the present Chinese ancient and modern industrial development, andpresents the research significance and aims as well as research method.Then the paperintroduces the geography, history and industry transformation of Shenhou Town,discusses the natural factors and social factors that influence its spatial morphology,and proposes the influence of the new modern “cultural resources” industry on thistown’s spatial morphology based on the analysis of the organizational factors andevolution characteristics of Shenhou Town’s space form in different industrialtransition period.Next, after a comprehensive analysis of the industrial resources ofShenhou Town as well as the significance of the modern transformation of touristindustry, this paper concludes that it is suitable for Shenhou Town to developCharacteristic Eco-tourism as the direction of industry transformation, and thenexplores the problems the town faces during the development of the tourist industry.Finally, based on the evolution trend and characteristics of tourist industry inShenhou Town at the present stage, this paper analyses the image features of thetown’s space form, and puts forward the evolution methods in the optimization ofspatial morphology from the three aspects of “point”,“line” and “surface”, accordingto the spatial structure of the town.In conclusion, this thesis explores the influence mechanism that the economicindustry has on the space form in Shenhou Town from the industrial point of view, andproposes that Shenhou Town should apply certain adaptive evolution to maintain itsvitality and sustainable development under the background of modern industrialtransformation.
