In order to meet the increasingly stringent emission regulations and fuel economyrequirements, the Electronic control of fuel injection system is the inexorable trend of thedevelopment of modern diesel engine. In view of our country oil pump manufacturers anddomestic fuel quality status, the electronic control assembly pump (ECAP) has become the idealchoice of high power diesel engine with its characteristics of less modification for the originalengine, strong adaptability, good reliability, stable performance etc. Fuel injection systemmatching and electric parameter calibration are the important contents of diesel electroniccontrol. The electronic upgrade of the product in this paper is based on the4190diesel.A studyof ECAP matching and calibration optimization is held through the experiment of injectioncharacteristics and the engine performance. In the first place, the influence of structural parameter and operational parameter oninjection characteristics of ECAP was analyzed taking advantage of French EFS pump test bench.the influence of structural parameter indicates that the estimated ECAP could meet therequirement of the diesel engine; the influence of operational parameter show that when injectionpressure is based on the constant velocity section of cam, cut-off delay time decrease and opendelay increase with the increase of speed; in most speed, the amount of oil is being linear. Theshape of injection law is close to an ideal rectangle, which meets the first slow acute, faultinjection oil rapidly requirements; Fuel injection time has little influence on cycle fuel injectionquantity and electronic and hydraulic delay. On the noncontact velocity section of cam, cyclefuel injection quantity and cut-off delay time are influenced by fuel injection time; and fueldelivery consistency is poor in high speed and small fuel quantity. In the second place, for the estimated ECAP, the matching performance experiment wasmade on different cam working segment and diameter of fuel injector. The results show that thereasonable choice of cam working segment can improve the engine overall performance; withthe increase of the injector’s diameter, the injection pressure decrease, especially in the high loadcondition; in the medium and high load condition, comparing with0.26mm and0.28mm injector,0.30mm fuel injector’s BSFC is relatively lower, but its NOx concentration is higher. However,in the medium and low load condition, the BSFC of0.26mm fuel injector is lower and the NOxconcentration is higher than the other injectors. On the whole, the0.30mm fuel injector canimprove the economy and emission performance of the diesel engine to some extent. But the injection pressure of0.30mm fuel injector should be improved, and then optimized matching ofcombustion chamber and intake system to fatherly improve the overall performance of the dieselengine. Finally, the MAP calibration of fuel injection time and the control of PID are carried outwhen the electronic control of diesel refit is completed. The experimental results show that theuniform design optimized test condition ensures the calibration quality, at the same time, couldalso improve the calibration efficiency greatly; the thought of combination of global optimizationand local optimization could take into account the diesel engine economy and emissionsrequirements simultaneously; after the final calibration optimization of electronic control dieselengine, not only the emission performance is lower, but the area of BSFC expands.
