Compared with ordinary fixed axis gear, Planetary gear transmission has a lot of advantages, such as small mass, small volume, large transmission ratio, large carrying capacity, stable transmission and high transmission efficiency etc. So it has a wide range of applications in various industrial sectors. But its design process is more complex, but also in the selection of related parameters is more complicated. In order to make the design programmatic, simplistic, parameterize, improve design efficiency and guarantee the quality of design, research on development of planetary gear transmission CAD system is extremely necessary. And also in order to prevent the planetary gear transmission damage caused by resonance, so anything that needs to be the natural frequency of the planetary gear drive away from the excitation frequency, it is necessary to carry analysis of vibration characteristics on planetary gear.In further research on the basis of Basic theory of planetary gear transmission, using Visual Basic language, compile the general design of planetary gear transmission, size of key components as well as the strength check, Used by three-dimensional drawing software SolidWorks plat do the three-dimensional modeling of transmission system’s each parts on planetary gear, and automatically assembled.Based on the relationship between the calculation method of gear tooth profile curve and its processing tool, the involute tooth root transition curve and curve equation were determined. Gear tooth profile curve is obtained by using the Visual Basic compile various points on the program, through the secondary development in SolidWorks to establish precise model of involute spur gear tooth profile, entity model of planetary gear transmission system components is established and automatic assembly under the environment of SolidWorks.Through the interface of SolidWorks and Workbench, the entity model of the planetary gear transmission system is imported into the Workbench, and then finite element modal analysis of planetary gear transmission is completed, respectively, when we do free modal analysis or constrained modal analysis, the inherent frequency planetary of the gear transmission system and the corresponding model figure of the vibration frequencies were solved, so as to reflect the possible problems of the planetary gear drive system, in theory, it provides an important reference for a further improvement of the planetary gear train.
