Research And Application Of Project Time Management In Road Alteration Project

With the rapid development and expansion of market economy, there has been a boom in the construction industry, especially in road construction, which has brought far-reaching influence to the economy in today’s world. The competition is increasingly fierce among construction enterprises. As a consequence, how to occupy the market quickly and efficiently and win numerous customers has become an essential question for all the enterprises, resulting in a great desire to seek advancement consistently. They pay more attention to project management to save human and financial resources as well as time cost. In the meantime, they should guarantee the quality. In this article, we focus on time management as a part of project management.Project time management is also called project schedule management or project progress management. It is carried out to make sure the project finished in time with a series of management activities and process. We choose the project in city Y as an example which is aimed in reconstruction to accumulate experience, grasp the method and study the conception by analysis. In this paper, we started from the introduction of the conception and importance of project management and time management. Afterwards, we explained the five parts of project time management in detail, which are task definition, task scheduling, task duration estimation, schedule planning and schedule control, etc. And then we pointed out the general problems in project time management before instance analysis. Through analyzing the methods of project time management, especially the application of task definition, the purpose and the contents of project time management and the measures in schedule control, we finally reached the problems existing in project time management and the solutions as well. The key point is to pick out the activities in the project critical path, and ensure them being finished before the deadline. Thus realize the effective management of project time. This paper has certain referential meaning for construction enterprises in engineering.
