Along with the development of shipbuilding technology, people’s expectation on theship’s comfort becomes higher and higher. Now people pay more and more attention on theship cabin noise control due to that the ship noise not only affect the regular operation ofequipments, but also impact people’s normal life. However, it usually solves only part of theproblem and leads to additional cost to apply vibration control method after the ship is build.It is better for designers to predict the cabin noise and investigate the noise control methodsand put forward some suggestions during the design of the ship for the sake of shortershipbuilding period and lower cost.Based on the statistical energy method,this paper focuses on the cabin noise predictionand control solutions for the three-body high-speed ship by using VA One software. Based onthe CAD drawing, the structure for the ship body is simplified properly first. The VA Onesoftware is used to model the super structure directly, and the software ANSYS is employedto create the finite element model of the bottom and then to generate the SEA model. The twoparts are eventually merged into overall model in VA One software.For the ship noise sources, the engine noise and air-conditioning noise are chosen as themain noise sources. The noise levels in several cabins are predicted by enforcing the enginenoise and calculated air conditioning noise separately. The noise control methods areevaluated, and the software VA One is used to calculate and analyze the sound-absorptionperformance of sound-absorption material combinations with deferent layers and differentthickness, and several good combinations sound-absorption materials are obtained. Throughthe examination on the relationship of energy input among acoustic cavity subsystems, thecombinations of sound-absorption materials are used to control the noise in the cabinsaccording to the energy contribution.This paper studies the way to use the VA One software to create model of the statisticalenergy analysis for the ship cabin noise prediction. It is useful to predict the mid-highfrequency noise in cabins in the practical applications, select the sound–absorbing materials aswell as design the noise reduction measures in the future.
