Outboard valve is an important Implementing component of the control system inside thesubmersible, It plays a critical role in the safety of the submersible. With the submersible’sdiving depth increasing the structural design of the high-pressure outboard valve, performanceoptimization, reliability is becoming a more and more important subject in the domestic andinternational researches. This paper mainly studies a new type of high-pressure sea valve, thisoutboard valve using a semi-balanced structure to solve the problem that the pressure valve isopened and closed difficultly when it is in the deep sea. Take the solution that switching theway to control the value between electric-control and manual-control, the high-pressureworking and automatic controling can be achieved. This article describes the working characteristics and the research developments of thehigh-pressure outboard valves in the world. The general structure planning of thehigh-pressure outboard valve is on the basis of its working characteristics and performancerequirements. Meanwhile the principle and the applications of the semi-balanced structure aredescribed particularly. Considering the work environment of the value, the materials areselected properly, the main components of the value are designed reasonably. Finally the totalstructure diagram is accomplished.Utilizing the software like ANSYS Workbench, the stress conditions of the value underdifferent working status are analysed. The valve body’s carrying states under various workingconditions are studied to ensure its stiffness and intensity can meet the requirements. Thewater-impact simulations were done under different opening status using CFX method. Basedon the simulation results, the modal analysis of effective stress are done to avoid resonancedestruction when the valve was in a variety of opening under.Topology optimization is implemented for the value, so identified the parts can beremoved, and made the corresponding weight loss treatment. For local specific size, theobjective parameter optimization was done based on the topology optimization, made thetarget size be optimal. The above treatments, not only made the valve’s mechanical propertiescan meet the requirements, but also made its weight and structure size be optimized.According to the reliability requirements of the high-pressure outboard valve, and the emergence of the failure of the test sample is less in this research, the assessment andcalculation methods related are studied, the experiment outline and the experiment proceduresare designed, and the experiment data are calculated and analysed, Finally the conclusion ofthe reliability assessment was reached.
