Valve, as an essential supply in lives and industries, for regulating direction andcontrolling flow of the pipeline system play an extremely important role. It is well known thatcomplex flow phenomenon of turbulence, separation, cavitation, water hammer widespread invalve channel generally. Vibration and noise generated by the phenomenon above havebecome the focus and the problem to be solved.In view of the flow noise existed in the actual operating high pressure outboard valve,the fluid dynamics mass conservation equation and momentum equation in the continuous,incompressible, constant viscosity pipe were built. The3-D geometric model of the flow fieldwhich has different shapes is established by using solidworks software, and then it is importedinto the Fluent which is a common computational fluid dynamics software for simulationanalysis. The flow state of fluid in flow field is simulated respectively, when the valve core isstatic or moving. According to the visual result of simulation, reasons that affect the capabilityand cause the noise of outboard valve were illuminated. Then the structure of outboard vale isimproved, and the theoretic for optimizing the flow field outboard vale are provided.In order to reduce the resistance and the noise of valve, the study of the optimizationdesign of internal flow channel has been done. Simulations in two valve structures have beencarried out and the numerical analysis has been proceeded based on a series of single factors.Finally, we investigated the characters of fluid flow.With the simulation of the influence of the key geometrical shapes and sizes of the valveupon the pressure, velocity, turbulent kinetic intensity, some suggestions for the internal flowchannel are proposed as followed: installing a structure of stend, the inner corner of an angelvalve chould consider diversion, using arc valve stem, streamlining the top of valve disc, takefillet of sensitive part(narrow sector of the throat, seal of valve body, both internal andexternal sides of the sharp corners on valve disc, and stagnantwater zones in the top valvepocket)into consideration, extending step height of valve disc and increasing stroke of valve.Above optimization measures can improve the minimum pressure of flow field, decreasethe maximum velocity and turbulent kinetic energy of flow field and eliminate eddies, benefitto the reduction of the flow noise of outboard valve radically. Taking those measures can propose a safe and smooth internal flow channel.
