In recent years, studies on package design attempt to explore the package form and package meaning from an individual perspective. While using function studies are mostly from designers’ imagining out of thin air. As is known to all, package and product is an entirety that cannot be separated. The ultimate users of them are consumers who focus on the internal product usage in the process of using package and product. As a result, package, as the adjunct, should take the consumersobjectives into consideration. On the other hand, the promotion of usersdemand level against artifacts and the change from Object Center Theory to Experience Center Theory imply the arrival of an experiencing design and experiencing economy era. For this reason, interactive package design, which is user-centered and user-experience, is worthy of discussing.This paper takes the perspective of behavior design, which is rarely discussed in the traditional package design, takes the styles and methods in interactive design, gives the definition of interactive package design, clears up the origin and development of interactive package, divides a three-level development of fundamental layer, compound layer and intelligent layer, points out six characteristics of stability, interactive experiencing, functional integration and etc. Meanwhile, it also the interactive using function, interactive forms and its causes of formation, realizing the recycle, entertainment and decorating function of interactive package’s compound layer. The intelligent layer implicates the functions of controlling food quality, automatic heating and cooling and intelligent anti-faking, pointing out the characteristics of changing from static to dynamic. The paper illustrates the difference of design style and method between traditional and interactive package design, forms the method system of interactive package design, holds that it should be user-centered and designed according to interactive behavior modes, interactive package vision and package realization. All the discussion on the basic theories, principles and methods may provide a new angle and way of thinking for the researchers of package designing.Combining the related subjects like consumer behavior and cognitive psychology, the thesis adopts the research methods such as quantitative and qualitative method, literature research method and comprehensive analysis method, and it explores the interactive packaging design in full scale. Finally, it comes to the conclusion that the interactive packaging design focuses on realizing user objective, and takes research, planning and design on the way of act of packaging products, functions, forms and external visual elements. Not only the practicability and humanization of packaging, but also the interactive experience between package and user should be adjusted and guided.
