Comprehensive management of water environment is a complex systematic engineering which has close relation to policy and covers a lot of aspects. Overall consideration and planning, elaborate design and careful implement should be provided in order to achieve multiple benefits. Forward-looking comprehensive management has very important significance, wich can promote sustainable development of the region.This paper takes Dayan pond in Yizheng, Jiangsu as an example, the problems to be solved are following:drainage, water pollution, traffic, ecological landscape. Comprehensive management of Dayan pond is very necessary. Comprehensive management should not only solve these problems, but also highlight the comprehensiveness, aim to build a wholly new Dayan pond.From the point of view of its geographical location, drainage standard, economic and other factors, the main contents of this paper are:(1) Status of comprehensive management on water environment are studied, research findings at home and abroad on water environment management are reviewed.(2) On the basis of fully study on present situation of water environment withiin Dayan pond area, the planning schemes and engineering measures for comprehensive management are put forward. Main contents of planing and design schemes are:①Drainage Project;②Sewage Conduit Project;③Traffic Transformation Project;④Comprehensive Ecological Landscape Project.(3) According to the comprehensive management schemes put forward, planning and design in overall scale and local scale are made, wich includes:the Dayan pond connectivity project, river widening, dredging project, overflow dam engineering, traffic engineering, sewage pipeline engineering and landscape engineering.(4) In order to ensure the desired effects of comprehensive management of Dayan pond to be achieved, hydraulic calculations for local engineering are done, which includes:the hydraulic calculation of the overflow dam, the hydraulic calculation of the gate hole, the hydraulic calculation of river sections and the hydraulic calculation of the sewage pipeline. (5) Combining with the engineeing schemes of Dayan pond drainage, sewage treatment and traffic engineering; making full use of the surrounding environment of Dayan pond, ecological landscape planning and design are made.
