Research On The Badaguan Community Landscaping Design Method During The Invaded Period Of TSINGTAO

With the rapid development of landscape and urban planning, people pay moreattention to living environment. Many design alternatives show the national similarity,which is lacking of regional characteristics against the rapid development of landscapeand urban design subject. The design method, which includes both academic andpractical meanings, lies in the objective analysis of the typical scheme for introducingappropriate elements, functions into the contemporary design. Tsingtao is a charmingseaside city which is fulfilled with foreign romance. By virtue of its historical baptism, sofar the variety of national landscapes and architectures in the concession period stillremain, which not only has great historical significance to the contemporary Tsingtao’surban development, but the experience of its construction provides reference role for thedomestic cities. However, as to modern gardens of Tsingtao, especially the coloniallandscape and architecture, most of the researches are scattered and basically staying inbasic material level, without any in-depth analysis, not to mention the analysis andresearch from the professional perspective of landscape architecture or architecture.In this thesis, the author uses the methods of literature review, field survey, caseanalysis, comparison analysis and design method respectively. This dissertation describesthe landscape design and construction led by foreign authorities during the invadedperiod of Tsingtao, use the attached green space of residential as the focal point and doresearches from aspects of garden elements, Landscape gardening materials and designmethods. This paper strives to analyze the essence of different countries’ landscape stylefrom the typical cases, and compares that with the modern residential green areas, so thatwe could sum up the outstanding landscape thoughts, discuss respectively, and finallydraw the conclusion in depth.After this article’s research, the author summarizes Qingdao Badaguan residentialgreen space’s design methods and unique characteristics, from landscape elements,landscape material, designing technique respectively. On the whole, Qingdao Badaguanresidential green space is eclectic, introducing the western advanced material andtechnology.At last, in view of the analysis, the author comes up with constructive suggestions in the dissertation as follows: to build the fusion of traditional and modern landscape; to payequal attention to form and connotation; to keep local characteristics; to look for culturalfeatures; to keep Ecology and environmental friendly; to pay attention to innovation; tokeep construction investment reasonable; to think highly of constructing and managing.
