Urban Commercial Complex is a new type of commercial building in China,originated from the rapid social economy development and the urban development, andalso is the future trend of commercial building development. In recent years, through alarge number of constructions, Urban Commercial Complex has become an important partof city space and city life, its spatial form influent the whole city space and the quality ofpeople’s life. At the same time, the study focused on its spatial form is rare, and most casestudies are focused on the foreign and domestic first-tier cities. Therefore, it have greatsignificance and prospect to study the Urban Commercial Complex spatial form based onWuhan s completed cases.This paper starts from the influence which urban elements have been given to theUrban Commercial Complex s spatial form, based on the both study of Wuhan urbancommercial complex s historical prototype and originate background and the completedcases. Research on the relationship between the eight urban elements and the UrbanCommercial Complex spatial form, the eight urban elements including: city history, citydesign theory, city society and policy management, natural elements of the city, cityroads, city infrastructures, city open space and city building. Summarize how thoseelements effect the spatial form and what will the ultimate spatial form look like under theinfluence. Then combined with Eastern Hankou Shopping park, Jiedaokou Future Cityand Hashing Ginza those three cases analysis, summarize the way how UrbanCommercial Complex s spatial form have been formed in Wuhan, and the hierarchy ofurban elements according to the influence strength. Finally, the thesis shows that there arealso some problems in current situation and puts forward some suggestions for futurereference city construction.
