| With the development of urbanization in recent years and the more and more importance that the government attaches to the new rural development, an update development of the traditional village has become a pressing issue. Based on the rural characteristics, we need to renovate the traditional villages to meet the needs of a modern village life. This has become a consensus.If we take the traditional villages as a complex system, at the agrarian age their evolution is a typical self-organization process. After a long self-organized development, they gradually formed unique natural, economical, social and cultural characteristics, and also cured into the texture of its unique spatial structure. However, with the deepening impact of urbanization on rural area, the traditional villages’development is constantly being influenced by other organizations. In this process, these organizations’intervention in violation of certain laws of self-organizing leads to the disintegration of the traditional villages’unique space structure, and gradually towards simplification and convergence, with the loss of a wide range of information it carries.This essay regards the traditional villages as an open system of settlements. From the point of the self-organization theory and combined with the primitive thinking of the construction of China’s traditional villages, we explore the evolution of the traditional villages’self-organization updates; by analyzing the situation of the traditional villages’ self-organization under the influence of urbanization, we study the problems occurred and learn the experience; with the specific case study, we propose a " pattern of traditional villages’updates based on the self-organization laws" in taking account the subject, the mechanism, the principles, the strategy and the adaptation range as well as the evaluator’s factor. With its guidance in Jiangyuan village renovation in Southeastern Hubei Province, we are trying to find a way of the traditional villages’updates which combines self-organization mode and hetero-organization pattern effectively. |
