Rotary encoder switch is a kind of electronic component that can produce regular andstrict timing pulse switch, widely used in the electronics industry. The method of traditionalmanual detection for rotary encoder switch, because of its low efficiency, and can’t guaranteethe test results consistency, more and more difficult to adapt to the requirements of the rotaryencoder switch production, becoming the factory capacity bottleneck and restricts theenterprise development. Thus, many manufacturers are badly in need of a high performanceautomatic detection and sorting system for rotary encoder switch.In this paper, detection and sorting technology, PLC technology, configurationtechnology and other advanced automatic control technology are used to design the automaticdetection and sorting system for rotary encoder switch, which consists of mechanical structureas a basis and the supporting motion control system. It is the first time to achieve theautomation of the detection process of the rotary encoder switch and has the significance ofengineering practice and originality.In this paper, the design of the automatic detection and sorting system for rotary encoderswitch overall layout is artistic and reasonable, with main and auxiliary two workbench, andthere are feeding, detection, sorting three stations arranged on the main workbench. Itsmechanical structure consists of feeding mechanism, transmission mechanism, detectionmechanism, sorting mechanism four parts. Each mechanism links closely and together tocomplete the actions required in the process of detection and sorting.This system adopts the "PLC+IPC+servo motor" as the control system, in which PLCas the control core, IPC and sensor as the monitoring module, servo motor and pneumaticcomponents as the execution unit. on this basis, the control program of PLC is designed andthe KingView software is used to develop a good man-machine interface.The debugging indicates that, although the test prototype has numerous to be perfect, buthas achieve the required functions and expected performance index, and a new improvedversion is more worthy of looking forward to.
