The Protestant Church(which built by Protestant) is the majority churchin Xiamen Island.The Protestant was introduce in Xiamen juring the19THcentury with its church style evolution.Through its development was interruptduring the1960-1980，in newages its development is very fast.More and morechurch or get-together set was building.But in China，those research on planesubfunction of Protestant Church and its Main hall are lacunae.This paper aim at the study in plane subfunction of Protestant church inXiamen Island.The writer attempt to catch the ceremony of Protestant.,thenmake clear the plane subfunction of Protestant church by field research,alsoby asking the user、surveying and mapping the building and questionnairesurvey.Through the research of existing subfunction、insufficient and newrequirement.The result shows the lacking of existing church and those onewhich are beening designed,I think those problem are made up of the lack ofcommunity between the architects and Church.Although get the details ofplane subfunction and using situation in commondays，the writer try to founda basic mode of church in Xiamen Island，this may provid some referencematerial in future Church design.
