Study On Evaluation Of Outdoor Garden Landscape In The Elderly Community

With the ageing problem becoming serious, the elderly pension model presents a trend ofdiversity. In the future, The elderly community will be one of modes of the urban elderlypension in China, because its service facilities are perfect, optional utility is flexible. It canmeet the request of the elderly pension. The program and construction of outdoor garden spacein the elderly community should be considered on physiology, psychology and behavioral traitsof the elderly in order to create a suitable garden environment for the elderly. Now it isbecoming an important subject.Although planning and construction of outdoor garden landscape in the elderlycommunity at home an abroad has accumulated abundant literature data and experience. Anevaluation index system of garden landscape in the elderly community has not been studied sofar. So this paper aims at establishing a related index system.The elderly community was as an object of study. Firstly, The related research progress ofit was systematic analyzed by the method of literature consultation and cross-disciplinaryresearch. It showed that future research should use multi-disciplinary method and pay moreattention to multiple utilization of green space. With the developing of the elderly community,study on functional evaluation of the elderly community garden landscape would be animportant research direction.Secondly, the elderly as a subject and feature of garden landscape as an object in theelderly community garden landscape utilization were systematic analyzed entirely. It wasconcluded that the elderly community garden landscape should possess three basic featuresincluding physical and mental requirement (communication, safety, accessibility),ecologicalcharacteristics of garden landscape(biodiversity and community stability, the health status andsafety of plants) and aesthetic features(beauty of formal and artistic conception). Thus thesewould prepare for the evaluation index system of garden landscape in the elderly community.Finally, The multi-level evaluation index system of garden landscape in the elderlycommunity was established on account of the analytical results of subject-object characteristics. The elderly community of Beijing city as a study case, the quality of landscape wascomprehensive evaluated by using Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. It showed thatevaluation results reflected on-spot basic situation truly, Fuzzy comprehensive evaluationmethod which could transform qualitative indexes into quantitative indexes was an effectivemeans of quantitative evaluation results. Meanwhile, it could supply with plenty of plan anddesign information of the elderly community garden landscape.For the first time, this study was innovative characteristic of putting forward theevaluation index system and evaluation method of the elderly community garden landscape.Thus it would provide theory and practical basis in order to unify and improve the evaluationstandard of the elderly community garden landscape. Furthermore, this evaluation method wascharacteristic of higher practical operation, there were advantages to improving design level ofthe elderly community outdoor environment and construction level of the elderly communitygarden landscape. This study was realistic instructive significance in promoting theimprovement and perfecting garden landscape construction system in the future.
