All the advantages bring some benefits in the manufacture ofautomobile exhaust pipe, but the201stainless steel has low plasticity, and it is difficultto form. The equipments of the related thick annular, which used to forming201stainlesssteel bellows have problems of low quality, low efficiency and high cost, that can notfulfill the new production requirements. Based on the existing metal bellows formingtechnology, annular metal bellows forming machine hydraulic control by capsule wasproposed in this paper, the key technologies of capsule hydraulic control forming hadbeen studied and discussed. The main work which has been done in the paper as follow:This paper has a discussion about the application of metal bellows as well as thedevelopment of forming technology at home and abroad, a way of capsule hydraulicforming was proposed by the analysis of existing problems of metal bellows formingmachine tools. The focus was on the analysis and research of the feasibility of hydrauliccontrol forming capsule: metal bellows was used as the shell model, the forming forcewas analyzed and calculated by the theory of metal plastic deformation;Components offorming were designed, that including the design of capsule structure and materialselection, the design of mold piece, the research of tube axial positioning method; Thecapsule hydraulic forming are simulated by Dynaform software, and the forming resultswas predicted.The template is not be locked tightly in the process of bulging of metal bellow, inorder to solve this problem,a throttle valve was introduced to keep pressure and locktemplate tightly, and hydraulic system design was optimized in this paper. Using PLC asthe control core, the touch screen interface, electrical control system ware analyzed anddesigned.An annular metal bellow forming machine was developed, and the capsule hydrauliccontrol forming feasibility, throttle valve pressure locking mold piece, the reliability of hydraulic system, PLC and touch screen man-machine interface exchange control wasverified by the experiment. This machine has been put into operation, to date, it isworking fine.This paper also has a brief introduction to the shortcoming and the improvementswhat need to be done in the research of annular metal bellow forming machine.
