Most auto body parts are manufactured by stamping dies.The quality of automotive stamping parts will affect the whole vehicle quality.Not only the mechanical properties of material but also the optimal process parameters must be considered during the process of sheet metal stamped,Based on the main cause of the defects which occurring in the stamping process,this paper analyzed and optimized the parameters which affect forming quality by using the method of date simulation to avoid those defects and to improve the quality and to reduce the cost of product.Based on the theory of mechanics in sheet stamping and numerical simulation,this paper,by adopting Dynaform,a nonlinear finite element software,studied and analyzed the stamping technology parameters of the front plate of a certain type of car.1.Based on the mechanics theory and numerical simulation theory,the structure technology characteristics of the front plate were analyzed.The finite element model of enhanced in the front door plate was set up through Pro/E.2.The stamping process was simulated by Dynaform.The stress diagram,strain and thickness variation and forming limit diagram were obtained after the stamping forming.Forming limit index was used to assess the forming quality of the product.The defects,such as wrinkling and cracking,were predicted,and the main reasons for those defects were analyzed.3.The influence rules of the four parameters(The force,The thickness,the friction coefficient and the speed)were studied.The reasonable value range of the four parameters was determined.4.The experimental scheme about the parameters was designed based on the orthogonal test.The index including the maximum thickness thinning and the maximum thickness thickening were get form the result of the test.
