| Barrier-free infrastructure is designed for a special group in society in which the disabled, the old and the child whose living condition needs to be given a special attention are all covered. In this study, the author only focus on the old, which is growing fast in number in China now, which means a more comfortable, convenient and humanized design is become more and more important nowadays, and thus the author designed such a Fu Shou Ju, great houses for the living of the old people, which focus on the appearance, the living room and the public room from the aspect of function-orient, room-layout and specific spatial scale according to the physical and psychological changes and characteristics of the old people.We tried our best to offer such a barrier-free design which could ensure humanizing and family-like living conditions for the old. |
