Chinese traditional philosophy is broad and profound. From the pre-Qin period to Ming and Qing dynasties, Chinese traditional philosophy mainly advocated and researched the relationship between Human and Nature, and took the relationship as the basic point. Taoism, as the one of the main schools, propagated the thought of "Unity of Human and Nature" praising Nature, advocating Nature, and requesting that Human and Nature be in harmony and integrate into one. The thought that all things are one provided the basis for handling the relationship between Human and Nature, which reflected the ancient sages’wisdom of ecology, and provided the important theoretical reference and practical guidance to the modern environmental sustainable development. The principle of modeling Heaven and Earth in Chinese classical gardens was artistic crystallization of Nature, which followed "Unity of Human and Nature" in Taoist philosophy. From mimicking Nature in conception to aesthetic realm that "although people forged, the landscape in gardens was natural", from fresh artistic conception of flowers and trees to showing the landscape pattern of the characteristics of natural spirits of Heaven and Earth, all that embodies that Chinese classical gardens were based on Nature, integrated into Nature, and superior to Nature. As the skeleton of gardens, the element of landscape was the most important elements. The design of landscape was also the most significant part of classic garden design through the whole garden design. The landscape of Chinese classical gardens benefited from "Unity of Human and Nature" in Taoist philosophy, which not only made the thought in traditional aesthetic realm of landscape in gardens, but also reflected the influence of the thought of "Unity of Human and Nature" to the art of Chinese classical gardens with various forms. The thought of "Unity of Human and Nature" in Taoist philosophy provided spiritual nutrients for the art of Chinese classical gardens.With researching the examples of the overall arrangement of the landscapes in Chinese royal and private gardens, the thesis expounds the thought of "Unity of Human and Nature" in Taoist philosophy and its influence in order to realize cultural deposits of Taoism and the core of the overall arrangement of the landscapes in Chinese classical gardens.
