Study About Building Regional Characteristics And Cultural Of Guildhall, In Yunnan

Guildhall is a social organization which sets up by the countrymen or the peers during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The vast majority of guildhalls are set up in the another place by the countrymen. Ming and Qing dynasties guildhall can be divided into four types: countrymen guildhall,industry hall,gentry guildhall and imperial examinations guildhall. The object of this thesis discuss the country guildhall and industry guildhall in Yunnan. There are a variety of forms about countrymen guildhall. From the region extent comes to see,it is divided as administrative region unite and someone is divided as province region. Such as HuGuang guildhall, Jiangxi guildhall, Shanshan guildhall and Sichuan guildhall etc. Industry guildhall is a business office and public place by the joint venture to build that refers to the different industry merchants and craftsmen in order to deal with the natives’ oppression and maintain their own interests,such as currency guildhall, piece goods guildhall,salt guildhall,drugs guildhall and shipboard guildhall and so on.Author has conducted field survey and draw for Kunming, Huize, Mengzi, Gejiu and Funing successively. This thesis attempts to make full use of the collected historical records, drawings and investigations to try to use the combination with historical geography, architecture and other disciplines then through the typical case analysis, comparative analysis and other research methods to analyze the construction of the Yunnan guildhall building. Otherwise, author starts with the physical space of Yunnan guildhall thus research the origin and historical evolution, current situation and spatial distribution of Yunnan guildhall buildings, thereby exploring the architectural style of Yunnan regional guildhall and the influence by the different regional culture. From the functional analysis, plane layout, space construct, modeling design, structural features, decoration arrangement, decorative use and other aspects to analysis the peculiar regional feature of Yunnan guildhall. So that we can find the regional affecting factors of it then do a comparative analysis. Through the above analysis, this research emphasizes the exploration behind the architectural form of Yunnan guildhall which contains abundant cultural connation and precious value of history, culture and art about Yunnan guildhall existence.In recent years, more and more people pay attention to the protection of historical and cultural heritage. People are beginning to realize that traditional culture is gradually dying out. Although the existing Yunnan guildhall have been part as provincial or municipal level key cultural relics protection units which is a powerful affirmation. But there are some problems still exist in the guildhall building of the protection process, deserving of our reflection. This study and discuss also hope to evoke an important witness to these historical and cultural awareness of the protection of its living environment. In order to better recovery and heritage the few historical and cultural heritage so I do my best to humble for this thesis.
