With the growing usage of packaging machinery in domestic pharmaceutical industry, there are increasing quantity of medicine packaging machines, without a doubt, drug auto-packaging machine is one of the most complicated equipment. Modern automatic cartoning machines which integrate mechanical, electrical, light, gas technology are feature-rich, highly automated packaging equipments. For such a piece of complex machine, it is important to research and develope a control system, which is stable, easy-to-use and inexpensive. Based on this point, the article researchs and develope the controlling module used in HDZ-80type drug auto-packaging machine.This paper analyses the working principle and box assemble crafts of the drug auto-packaging machine. Adopting sensors to detect several key actions of the packaging machine including starting equipment pre-detection, medicine boards detection, folding instructions detection, expanding kit detection, pushing medicine boards and instructions into the box detection, shutting kit tongue detection. It analyzes the problems and reasons of the large size drug auto-packaging machine in order to determine control requirements of equipment.According to the control requirements, the controlling module in the drug auto-packaging machine projects a PC+ISA card control scheme. A electrical system of packaging machine is designed. Based on performance parameters of auto-packaging machine, thesis selects and calculates the main components types of auto-packaging machine involving sensors, motors and inverter. It devises control circuit on the ISA control card that comprised by address decoding circuitry, input-output circuit and handling interrupt signal circuit.In the software programming part of the machine, this paper designs the human-machine interface based on Vc++6.0that displays the real-time running state and sets parameter. As well as designs converter’s serial communication program and interru- pt service program relates to carton sucking valve and manual sucking valve control programs, eliminating valve control program. Through analyzing WDM driver model and WDM driver running processes and programmed I/O working principle, it draws a control card driver for the drug auto-packaging machine which controlled by PC.
