The Research On University Campus Planning In Private Universities

The planning and designing of university campus has become an important subject in the discipline of landscape and architecture, in which the educational function of the environment has been more and more considered as the concern of both the constructor and the administrator.With the deepening of higher education system reform, the campuses are changing tremendously now. Especially in the recent years, the private universities emerged unexpectedly, and the campus construction comes to a climax. Due to the factors of short founding time, abrupt planning, lessened construction time and difficulties in money operation, how to bring the campus an entirely new look is a question worthy of consideration. Under the new environment, the old planning cannot meet the present demand, on the contrary, there are few researches on the university campus planning, especially on the private universities.The paper aims to work out a complete theory about campus planning for the private universities through the case of the domestic private university campus planning, combining the latest urban design concept, architectural environment idea and the view of humanity. Setting already-constructed AFLU as the case, it try to offer a comprehensive, objective and justifiable comment on its campus, and finally seeks for the deficiency of campus construction and the regularities between the constituent elements of university campus.The campus itself is a complex and changing system. In the dilemma of limited construction space and a densely populated campus area, the construction of the campus needs to be taken seriously. It not only an integral part of the physical environment, but also one of the important symbols of the spiritual civilization in universities. The university campus construction should also maintain sustainable development, and put forward a feasible plan for the campus on the premise of analyzing its own capacity.Based on the analysis of Green Space Planning in many universities, AFLU has incorporated the natural conditions, the overall planning, the environmental function demands with the campus culture characteristics, highlighting the European garden style, employing the art of plants landscape, and thus made a reasonably overall planning and division of the green spaces as following:the core ecological green land, the surrounding green land, the road green land, the square green land, the playground green land and the affiliated buildings part. The design is composed of15 scenic spots, including the View-watching Pedestrian, the Library, the Administrative Building, the Teaching Building, the Star Square, Yinsi Lake, Yinzhe Bridge, Yinyi Bridge, Yinmeng Island, Students’ Apartment, the Gymnasium, the Experiment and Training Center, the Oriental Language Building, the Western Language Building, the Activity Plaza, the university’s culture and the campus landscape feature through the plant scheme, featuring chiefly on "European-style garden", focusing on the function value of " taking humans as essentials ".Based on the ecological idea of "plant-orientation", it has put forward a feasible plan and construction principles, pursed the Greenland Complex Effect of a remarkable plant function, a distinctive plant culture feature and an obvious ecological benefits, thus realized the goal of building a campus landscape which boosts both the profound languages culture and the ecological European-style garden.
